You have to blow dry your legs!

shaving my legs sucks, but shaving the ol' bikini line is way, way worse. and i can't afford a decent wax job these days, dammit! scrape scrape OW... scrape scrape OW... curses on my mediterranean ancestry!

for those of you who find eyebrow-plucking unbearably painful, try putting some toothache gel, like anbesol, on there beforehand. it numbs you up good.

I hate shaving my legs, because the skin on my shins is sooo dry. So most of the time, I don't bother
My mother has the same dry skin, but her legs are naturally completely hairless. (Life is just unfair sometimes. Why couldn't I have got those genes too?)

Uh, you wish you could be more "natural" so you would have to do unnatural things to yourself?
I sort of understand, when people are being mean to you about it. But I don't understand why people would be mean to you about it.

Okay, I think we've given Monkey enough crap for one thread... !?

RevD thanks for the tip on eyebrow plucking, I am going to try it.

I'm soooo glad my mother completely failed to inculcate me with the whole doing hair, applying makeup, shaving legs, giving a fuck mindset. However, if my daughter evinces an interest in it, I'll have to rent someone else to teach her, so that's a possible disadvantage.

Well, I would prefer to not have to do any of my various rituals, but I want their results so i suppose this post could be in either thread. Let's see, we have plucking eyebrows and nose hairs, shaving face and body, cleaning piercings, flossing, brushing teeth and tongue, clipping and filing finger nails and toe nails, pushing back cuticles, removing dead skin, putting gel in my hair, and getting my hair cut.

Of course most of you cannot relate to this but seemingly as a man gets older, for some reason hair starts growing out of the inside of his ears. Plucking that long ear hair is really a bitch, just wait.
No shit! I've thought about braiding my ear and nose hair both - I could have four pigtails! There's a little battery-operated clipper made by Wahl - maybe at your drugstore - that sure hurts less than plucking.

Doov wins the thread so far. Yoiks!

For those who find eyebrow plucking painful, another numbing tip if you don't have any Anbesol handy is ice. Just hold a cube to the area for a bit 'til it gets tingly-like and then blot and pluck away. I used this trick when it still smarted way-back-when, before my follicles gave up and became totally indifferent to being yanked at.
