I think blasphemy is hysterically funny! Why shouldn't it be. Remember GOD IS SANTA FOR ADULTS

BTW Sabine, if I see something I don't like, I know how to close the window. The little x in the upper right hand corner (hint hint)
I think you missed my point and rather than sounding like a broken record, I will let it rest on my previous post.

FYI,

It really turns me off when atheists say, "God is Santa for adults." It implies that theists are not informed about their faith, are unintelligent, and that their faith should not be taken seriously.

Yeah, yeah, I know atheists, you couldn't care less about what a brain-washed Catholic thinks, but such slams really turn me off to communicating openly with atheists.

I'm amazed at the uncorrupted state of Mama Teresa's corpse. Plus, it even seems to be enjoying itself.

This statement has nothing to do with thread. Put it in "humor" where it belongs.

Eh? You started this thread, and it is about the uncorrupted corpses of Catholic saints.

Hi Gemma... I do not think this is about atheists... this is about a handful of people who have personal issues with any religion and vent their frustration in this thread. I have communicated with many atheists who do not think that Christians are the way you described.

Some folks will think thru how they express themselves and seek to be productive in their communication with theists. Others just view us as targets of opportunities. But I must disagree with your generalization about atheists.

Do not be turned off.... just seek to engage with people who seem to be willing to communicate even handedly.

You have very deep convictions and it is difficult for a non theist to relate to them. But some will... mostly because they will recognize that you are an individual and not an entire group and do not give in into stereotyping or taking out their personal issues on you . Those folks are a pleasure to communicate with. Plus they do trigger some degree of justified critical thinking in us as their message is presented with decency and respect.

Cheer up !

Speaking of Mother Teresa's corpse ...

Three days after the body of the frail nun was placed in a glass case before St. Thomas' altar, there were concerns that the heat and humidity of the monsoon season may be endangering the corpse. Temperatures have been around 86 degrees with 90 percent humidity.

Technicians fitted two small fans inside her glass coffin Monday night to augment powerful air conditioners in the church chapel.

Apparently the miracle of freon trumps the miracle of incorruptibility.

Amie, I'm sorry, but I've had a couple of rotten days, and this quote had me laughing heartily at the thought of St. Jude helping the 'hopless'. There's just something wonderfully Pythonesque about that mental image.

Thanks.

here's some words from a friend

I'm gettin' tired of hearing things
from uptight, shortsighted,
narrow-minded, hypocritics...
