The obvious counter argument is "that's not how God chose to do it". Most of the rest are responded to with an appeal from ignorance fallacy. "Kind" is whatever the Christian involved first intuits to be. If you manage to challenge that, he just "movese the goalpost". Most I run into these days have moved from species to genus.

Jerry: I've got you beat - my favorite creationist places the "kind" somewhere around family. However, my 8-year-old came up with a good list of Kreated Kinds that made at least as much sense as most of the baraminologists. If she's right, there were around 18 kinds on the ark. This means the boat could have been the size of a large houseboat equipped with a couple of aquariums. Everything else is just microevolution within a kind. Now, when you ask how 18 pairs (unless it was 7) could have microevolved into 11+ million species, the obvious answer is "goddidit".
