Hey! woah there! Is that really neccessary? I mean, it was hardly deliberate malicious plagiarism, but more of a misunderstanding, right?

Like Frenchy in the movie Casablanca, "I am shocked" that Fiach is no longer with us. Like Bogart's last line in that same movie, I'd thought that "this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship."
There, I plagiarized twice and I'm still here. So you've got no excuse, Fiach, to ostracize yourself from this motley crew. We're no better than you and besides, none of us have anything to do with it cuz it's all in our genes anyway. I don't even understand the concept of plagiarism. Intellectual property is a chimera. Anyone can quote anything they want of mine including my worthless poetry. So come on back, Fiach, and let this not be the ending of a beautiful relationship. can anyone of us, with certainity Isolates a single Idea that doesn't have any influence by other's ideas and opinions? it's impossible. every idea in your brain has to do with other ideas you've experienced! something daddy told you, or you've seen it on TV. are you seriously convienced that you are so great a man as to come up with ideas that have never been thought of before??!?!?!?!? :boohoo: |

I do miss him a lot. I don't understand why he would be banned because he unintentionally copied someone's ideas. I certainly want him back to post some more of his ideas--I have always enjoyed reading them, since he came to this board.
I think banned is too severe a treatment, and the reason I spoke out about plagerism is more about his misrepresenting my ideas than him copying my post itself. I don't see why an unconscious action such as his should cause one to be banned. |
