Default "Heaven" by Live

Three cheers to the band Live for mainstreaming the "I don't know why, it just is" defense.

From their song "Heaven"...

"I don't need no-one to tell me 'bout heaven,
I look at my daughter and I believe.
I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth.
I can see the sunset and I perceive."

The frustrating thing is, it's actually a pretty good song.

What does everyone think?

I don't like it.

The music has nothing original to offer, and the lyrics are trite beyond measure. It just sounds like bandwagon jumping to me - leaping frantically aboard the nauseous religious wave that is drowning the country. The biggest surprise to me is that rock radio can play this shit with a straight face.

As an aside, I friggin KNEW that Evanessance (or however the hell you spell it) song was some quasi religious bollocks, and hey, whaddayaknow, they used to be a Christian rock band. Well, I never.

I just want to know, what happened to Live between their first album and now.
Operation Spirit: the Tyrrany of Tradition : "What a man was two thousand years ago means nothing at all to me today."
*sigh*

No shit. I was willing to let the angel in Lightning Crashes slide, since it's such a moving song, but they appear to have musically embraced Christianity. Oh well, at least they got me through my college years.

My first experience of this band was at afestival, years ago. The music seemed OK, but when the singer took five mins out to talk to the audience about God, I went and found myself a nice, greasy burger and added the band Live to my "ignore list".

I used to like live but I generally dont listen to religious songs, with only one exception I can think of.

Frente

I dont wanna die, Im just as innocent as anybody, I dont even know how to spell revolutionary,

JESUS in the sky,

so I overlook that use of Jesus. This new Live stance is particularly offensive because it justifies dumbass beliefs.
