I didn't, either. And my mother never snooped through my stuff or my room.

As a consequence, there was only one thing I ever lied to her about - and that had nothing to do with drugs or...well, "vanilla" sex. It had to do with a fetish of mine that I was exploring - and that was simply something she had no business knowing IMO.

(Not to mention if I were her I wouldn't want to know. )

Oh, and though I did this when I was 19 and 20, thus further (IMHO) justifying the act, I still felt horribly guilty about lying to her about it.
