![]() Quote:
The only proper citation I've seen in your writings is this: (Krementsov, N., Stalinist Science, Princeton University Press, Princeton, NJ, 1997, p. 66). And that is part of a humungus quote for which you failed to provide a source! |

Mr. T:
(on whether Stalin's purge victims were really evil plotters and enemies of the Soviet people...) No, on the contrary it was highly likely. For what reason? He was the last man to sign the nonaggression pact. The Capitalist countries had signed it before him. It was not made with the "capitalist countries" as a group, but with Nazi Germany, which had previously been a big enemy. And when Stalin did that, he decreed that the "fascists" were no longer the biggest enemy, but the democratic "imperialists". And no, not helping "himself" (we are talking about a man who died with ten roubles in his pocket): helping to build Communism. By building an empire in eastern Europe. ![]() (sending POW's to the gulags...) A very wise decision. I would have done the same thing. For what reason??? (Trofim Lysenko...) In fact, the remarkable, highly original, and yet ignored insights of Lysenko have turned out to be true in botany, soil science, and other fields. Whatever those "insights" are supposed to be. ![]() Lysenko had believed that genes do not exist. Yet they do. He also had no understanding of how to conduct a controlled experiment, and he considered doing statistics a pointless waste of time. |

After thinking about this, I wonder if there are some Stalinists who have their own Internet site, complete with defenses of his activities, including justifications of his crimes.
Because such a place may be where Mr. T is getting his ideas from; one wonders why he seems knowledgable in relatively obscure things like someone's defense of Trofim Lysenko as having made great contributions to biology. |
