If I were a god? Well, first off, I'd set up a world and its natural inclinations, its laws, and how it would be capable of improving itself (evolution.) Then I'd let it develop itself, and occasionally drop subtle clues in the way to get people to think about the world around them.
However, if I ever felt that people were advancing too fast, such that the world itself wouldn't be able to keep up, I'd intervene myself... no need for fundies. And if fundies DID start preaching bullshit in my name, they would soon find themselves face to face with a mysterious serial killer or three. I don't need the people getting confused by money-grubbing fundamentalist drivel, now, do I? Churches? The study of the land itself, and appropriate cohabitation with it (not tree-hugging, but not clear-cutting either!) would be as worship to me. I wouldn't need priests, or prophets, or other such forms of taxation. Instead, I'd occasionally whip up an Avatar, fill it with a little of myself in the currently "average" form, and wander the earth a while, revealing wisdom to whomever sought after it. Afterlife? Reincarnation. It just seems more natural that way. |

I thought it would be nice to be a cruel, nasty, invisible, silent, witchburning, mass murdering, child torturing kinda god....but it appears that position is taken.
I would like people to at least think I was a sex god!! |

If I were a god, I would be called Obladi Oblada and I would communicate with my followers via various hallucinogens and elevated states of being.
