So I guess you might say selfishness forms the basis for my moral code, such as it is at any given moment.

I used to argue that Mother Theresa was selfish. After all, her actions were based on what she wanted to do.

Then I grew up. I learned that the needs of others may outweigh my own wants and needs. For example, I make sacrifices for my family. Saying I "wanted" to sacrifice adds nothing. Hedonism is juvenile, IMO.
