OK, can we get a no passive-aggressive rule here? I think that for every tim Sean suggests that he is an ass or that everyone hates him, he should get a fine or something. Perhaps he should have to sing "I'm a Little Teapot" or somethng nice like that. And do the dance too, maybe with a pink bow.

heehee.

As for the venting, welcome back to the club.

I would hate me, I constantly fundamental everyone to death, ok thanks, also Brim told me to go to my "happy place" out of the blue, that was funny and ironic. LOL Thanks Gunnaheave.

Thanks Rufus! and Ju'iblex. Why is it you guys are so nice and most Christians (especially those that moderate) aren't, I don't get it, I mean at almost all Christian sites I get treated like a piece of shit, even when I feverishly support them, and stick up for them, and in the process I unfairly (like them) shun people that would be my friends? No wonder you guys have the attitude, I peek over here and just want to post "damn! your right" (well a lot of the time), sometimes I want to correct a misstatement (even though I may be wrong), but anyway I'm sorry.

I mean it makes you want to rebel against God, when you get the shaft, whats good for them is not good for me?

[pink bow]I'm a little teapot, short and stout here is my handle here is my spout.........[/pink bow]

i know, it's one thing I've always wondered. xianity supposedly teaches compassion, love, forgiveness and all that corinthians style jazz. however, when i peruse that place, all i see is hatred. the irony of some christians claiming atheists are immoral scum and then those same atheists being the warmest people i've found to date is quite saddening and yet pleasing at the same time. quite the paradox.

I see these things happen when people believe they have THE TRUTH. And its not just a function of religious belief. I am a scientist, and some of the most difficult and abrasive people in my field are those that believe that they have THE TRUTH and that others that don't align with their beliefs are open for ridicule. Luckily those people are few and far between.

George Smith once wrote about the "virtue of reasonableness". I really believe that being reasonable is a virtue. For me, there is nothing wrong with saying that I am confident in my beliefs, but that there is a possiblity that I don't have THE TRUTH and that I may be wrong. It doesn't weaken my position. In fact, it makes me open to other possibilities. Even if I don't change my mind about something, at least I am open to new and different information.

Seebs... you would have LOVED one of my journalism professors...
he was very worldly, hard-core, ex military... (proud smile)

First day... he shocked the whole class with a few of us who had many life experiences...

He made us write an article on the different uses/meanings of the word 'fuck' and what constituted foul language...

As he put it... I mean do you think whoever came up with the phrase: "Fuck you and the horse you rode in on" LITERALLY meant it????

I had a blast! (wish I still had that article)
