The song is missing quite a lot. There is simply guitar and vocals which can get old after about 2 and a half minutes. If you want to keep it longer, try adding something to change the pace of the song, such as some stringed instruments or percussion.

It would also be well served during the chorus parts, to add an additional vocal track. Doing some overdubs, perhaps harmonies.

Overall though the talent is very good and I liked the feel of the song, save the shortcomings I already mentioned.

Keep after it!
Thanks for the comments. I agree with them. So far the band is just a duo, we're currently looking for additional musicians to expand our sound. Hopefully we'll be able to find someone who can add vocal harmonies too because my singing sucks. This actually isn't one of our best songs. It's just the first one that website approved for people to listen to. We should have a couple more up over the next few days.

I have a few more to dig up, unless everyone really hates the music .

Purple Monkey Dishwasher, I really like your voice !
It's not me singing. I'm just the guitarist. But I'll pass that on to Lynette.

I downloaded your first song. It's groovy. Energetic and well performed. Nice bass tone.

While we're at it, here's my friends' band: Letterbox Lambs

They've got stacks of CDs for sale.

My music doesn't deal with religion much, but I wouldn't mind some opinions on it anyway. You can listen to it here: http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=11116
I love you. Will you have my babies?

Seriously, very mellow and moving. As AquaVita said, a little bit of zing would add structure and variation, but that would just be the cherry on top of a very listenable cake (oh I do so like meting mixaphors).

I think that you owe us all an explanation for your user name, though.

Thanks for the kind words.

The user name is a Simpsons reference:

Edna: Good news, people!
[the other teachers cheer]
I'm happy to announce that another union has joined us in a
sympathy strike: the piano tuners' Local 412!
[the teachers look at one another, confused]
[a piano tuner stands outside a house with an out-of-tune
piano and looks smug]
Bart: [walking up] Now for Operation Strike-Make-Go-Longer.
[to teacher] You know, I heard Skinner say the teachers will
crack any minute.
[the teachers whisper it forward through the line]
Teacher: [to Edna] Skinner said the teachers will crack any minute
purple monkey dishwasher.
Edna: Well! We'll show him, especially for that "purple monkey
dishwasher" remark.
[everyone shouts their assent]

classic. very nice.

oh, i like the music too - but i'm -jealous- of the screen name.

on the music tip, i'd be tempted to double or triple the vocals or otherwise thicken things up a bit. maybe even try adding some percussion or bass? i dunno. and i'm another infidel on the list who does audio engineering for a living. so we are coming out of the studio's with our snow white studio tans to hop on this board.

Default Yo, Purple Monkey Dishwasher!

Hey fellow bass-playing bro, long time no see in the Dude Pit!

Good to see you here. . . didn't know we shared some of the same philosophies!
