Not this year, but I have attended services at Christmas and Easter...usually when my nieces and nephews are singing or performing. We have raised a little scandal in that we don't take communion, but explained it would be hypocritical for us to do so.

Nice to see you Amie! We will probably attend church as we normaly do on some Sundays. Usualy we have communion at home.
I like to mix all kinds of cultures which retrace my childhood as
well as my children's.... we will have a mix of a Passover meal with a touch of tartono from Naples, Italy, and the traditional Algerian couscous from my mother's side of the family. We celebrate at home... family and friends. We do not do "bunnies" ( except cooked as a civet) ( since bells bring the little eggs in France... ).

Cool

The orchestra is playing in all 4 services at church on Easter Sunday morning so I'll be there...after that I think the day is going to be focused mostly on chocolate

Hey Amie, Happy Birthday Easter Sunday! My son's birthday is the day after yours - he'll be 10.

LOL!

I may doze off unless there's some sort of genuine move of the Spirit. You'll understand I'm sure.

Hey Sabine! She was only kidding, ma.

Pardon me, but I don't think anyone told her to buy anything for any reason. Also, if I'm not mistaken, BG's comment is what's known in the "we don't have a pine comb up our ass" community as a "joke."
Would non-members include Jesus? If so, thank you.

When somebody who calls herself Blondegoddess says she's found an excuse to go shopping, few would think she's kidding.

Why Gunner, I make lot's of funnies. You doubtless don't appreciate them because they generally have a little barb attached. I understand.

I keep wondering who it is you think you speak for. I think that anyone with any understanding of situational irony would take blodegoddess's post in a non-serious way. Between the "minor unimportant gain making up for a huge annoyance" which practically a red flag with the words "THIS IS SARCASM" on it, and the , I'd think it would be obvious that she was joking.

Then again, I could be wrong.

Course, I doubt even you would try to use some "dumb blonde' stereotype as a defense, so I'll have to assume that this is your own attempt at "humor." The question remains as to how you justify calling BG's charitablity into question, and all but implying that the membership of this board is encouraging her to become intolerably selfish while simultaneously trying to make her think that none of her former friends really love her.

Odd. From my experiences with you under the name "Rimstalker," I'd say that you throw a lot of barbs with a bit of joking attached. Maybe it's just a matter of perspective, eh?

No I meant her personal friends probably don't call her on contradictions in her thinking. How much of a stretch is that? It takes a mature person to appreciate such a friend. Tithing is a waste, she says, and she refuses to let her husband tithe apparently, while going out to buy an expensive dress.

Of course I'm willing to listen to her defense if she has one- not that it's as big a deal for me as for you.

Well I don't know what you mean, as in her case her "former friends" were churchgoers, confusing the issue in her case. I suspect from what I've read they would have frowned on her buying expensive stuff. In any case I'm just pointing out an apparent contradiction which she can do with as she wills.

???? I think we are saying about the same thing. But maybe you meant you did see me joking even though you describe me as having a "pine cone up my ass."
