I never claimed it was my point of view, but never mind. The north pole thing is an analogy rather than an illustration. I can't see that it is sensible to talk about time existing outside of space-time, although I'm willing to be wrong. I'm no expert.

Hi-

My theory is that if the big crunch does occur and there is (without (C)harge conjugation violation) an equivalent amount of matter to antimatter- than all of the energy in the universe will enter a massless state (be turned into photons) once again. A new big bang. boom. kablooey.

Can you cite a passage from the book where Hawking actually says he has changed his mind on the subject?
