What infuriates me the most about Holocaust deniers (not "challengers", not "revisionists") is not their pathetic pretense of blindness to the grim mountains of evidence that the second half of the 20th Century uncovered; it's simply their insistence on carrying on the work of their Nazi forebears. By insisting that the people in the camps never died, and therefore never even existed, they are explicitly denying the humanity of the millions of Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and political prisoners murdered by the Reich. They also deny the courage and conviction of the ordinary men and women who dared to stand with the victims instead of the mob, even though they knew that they would share the same fate.

Hitler was an extraordinarily pathetic creature. His drive was based entirely off his own personal weaknesses, and his attempt to compensate. I suspect that anyone alive today who could be so totally sucked into the subtle homoeroticism and blatant pandering of Hitler's doctrines is afflicted with this same sense of deficiency. Mark is more to be pitied for his personal and intellectual weakness than anything else.
