Darn, we frightened another one off. Why can't we ever get any creationists here with a bit more backbone?

Disciple, there's no need to hide in embarrassment if that's what you're doing. I once formally debated a Christian on the existence of God, and he plagiarized an entire article by William Lane Craig for his opening statement. When I called him on it, he didn't disappear -- rather he owned up to it, apologized and moved on from there (although he still plagiarizes constantly).

Come back and discuss these "problems" with us. If your mind is open at all, you'll learn something.

To paraphrase the title of an M R James essay on ghost stories:

"Creationists: Treat them Gently!"

Perhaps if we approached their comments with "well, you might have a point there, but have you considered...?"

Nah, bugger that. If they spout nonsense, then they'll release the tigers on themselves.

I have read and enjoyed this interchange, I think most of you treated disciple with a lot more respect than I have received from creationists at their sites.

off topic, since I was banned from baptist board all I can do is watch Helen post her nonsense day in and out. just wondering if we have invited her to come over here? that way they can still shield their precious little baptist minds from the onslaught of science.

Disciple's last post in this thread was just yesterday. It's certainly too early to be accusing him of vandering off. Let's just be patient, everyone, and give him the benefit of the doubt -- maybe he's busy carefully crafting a detailed and original reply.

I know it sounds ludicrous, but I'm serious -- a day without a response is not cause to crow victory.

Now if I said that after a week, then I'm being sarcastic.

pz, that's so funny! I LOL'ed too when I read that part. I know you're half-serious when you posted that, but it takes people by surprise, and laughter is a normal response.
