Welcome, Renton! I'm "multi-tasking" here in Southern California....As I'm typing, I'm also watching a car chase that is being televised. This kind of "news" is covered regularly here in the U.S. It is even possible to buy wristwatches that alert the wearer to a new "car chase" that is being televised. I am mildly disgusted by this kind of news coverage, but on the other hand, it is actually mesmerizing to see someone flaunting traffic laws and eluding capture for very long periods of time. Do you have the same phenomenon in the U.K.. or this strictly an American obsession?

Enlightened Lady; no we don't have that in the UK, our media are far more concerned with Z list celebs and general scaremongering eg. a "dirty bomb" is going to kill us all, no wait SARS is going to kill us all, etc
