I would like to have a garden though but I am so far from a greenthumb...
In Holland we have these things called 'folk's gardens'. You can rent a patch of land there to grow whatever; ideal for those who live in an appartment.
So anyways; when I was in elementary school, everyone in our class got one of those little gardens, as an educational project. I completely neglected mine during the summer holiday, so when I got back the place looked like a jungle. I kinda liked my wild and lavish weedgarden, but the people running the folksgardens place insisted I cleaned things up.
Tastes differ I guess.

1. I'm going to Arizona for graduate studies in philosophy.

2. I'm currently teaching English in the Czech Republic, almost entirely because I like the Czech band Uz Jsme Doma.

3. I played guitar and arranged the music for three joke bands: one played Nintendo theme songs, another played (original) stupid heavy metal, and another played songs from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle album "Comin' Out Of Their Shells".

4. I skipped two grades when I was 6. I've always been around older people, and my only girlfriend was 10 years older than me.

5. I never kissed, nor went out with, nor had sex with anyone until I was 20.

6. I've spent thousands of dollars on library fines. Seriously, thousands of dollars. I feel terrible.

7. I have no work ethic and a strong perfectionist streak, and so nearly all my projects fail, unless other people force me to do it, or a deadline forces me to churn something out at the last minute.

8. Almost all of my friendships have been formed through the ridicule of others, which is the only pastime that consistently makes me happy.

9. I've never smoked a cigarette, nor tried any illegal drugs. I never drank a drop of alcohol until I came to the Czech Republic, where people's feelings get hurt if you don't try their beer. I've never drunk enough to get a 'buzz', though.

10. I have a strong appreciation for idiocy and nonsense. MST3K and Time Cube. I've watched far more terrible films than good films (intentionally). My favorite bands have nonsense lyrics.

LOL - my husband just buys me books now because I could never get library books back in time - he says it's cheaper this way

You and I share similar tastes in pastimes, idiocy and nonsense. Great to find another Superior Life Form like myself

1. I was adopted from Korea, but Koreans tell me I don't look Korean (I really don't. I think I might be part Filippino or something). I'm about as Asian as a fortune cookie, though.

2. The only salt water body I've seen in person is the Baltic sea.

8. I've seen The Sound of Music an obscene amount of times.

9. I really enjoy going to theatre productions.

10. I think drugs are really interesting (both the legal and illegal varieties).

Bonus cause I don't wanna go back to Biochem quite yet:

2. I am a fanatic about strawberries and almost anything strawberry-flavored (McD's s'berry milkshakes being a huge exception).

3. Not a huge fan of sports unless my son is playing.

4. I am a computer Neanderthal.

5. My favorite reading is early American history/Constitutional/founding period.

6. Rather conflicted on Christianity--the absolutes appeal to me as a conservative, but some things like original sin, hell, and such injustices as God "visiting the sins of the fathers on the children, even unto the third and fourth generations". I passed through an atheist period, reading George Smith and Antony Flew but "came back" to Christianity, sort of.

7. Unhappily married but a very happy Dad.

8. Have been an auto insurance claims adjuster for "a major insurance company" for sixteen years, since I got off active duty in the Navy.

9. Am a country/bluegrass music fan.

I like Milk Duds too...Bear why are you scared to leave?

A few of my family members from my maternal side died on the Titanic. Recently Infinity read to me all about them from a Titanic encyclopedia site which listed a bunch of information about All Titanic passengers, where they were from, who they travelled with, what they ate, their ticket number, cabin number, what they were wearing and so on and so forth. I gave him their names and he looked them up for me and told me all sorts of things. I was saddened to learn despite the fact they were third class passengers, they managed to get to a boat but the 2 women (John's wife and younger sister) would not leave without him so they relinquished their seats. Their bodies were never found. I also found out he led some people to some boats on an upper deck helping to save them and I was happy to hear about that. I cant imagine the fear those people must have felt...

1. I used to have the nickname "Dutch" when I was back in the UK for a year, whilst here in NL, my nicknmae used to be "Brit". That tells you something about my blurred national identity.

2. I want compulsory licensing for pedestrians. Most people I encounter on the pafvement haven't got a clue, and should not be there!

3. I once broke a guy's finger, legally, in a game of rugby. See, it's legal to pull someone's hands off the ball, in a maul. I used to just pull the pinky finger. I had to keep reminding myself for a while that I'd acted entirely within the rules - when the guy lets go of the ball, you have to let go of his hand, and I always did, before and after this incident. This was the only guy who ever didn't let go of the ball.

4. Only one person has ever been able to beat me at "Speedball 2" on any system.

5. Sir David Attenborough is my lifelong hero.

6. Washburn Guitars make the finest instruments I've ever played on - better than my Jackson, Fender, Yamaha or Ibanez.

7. I was even more left-wing than I am now, before I started working.

8. My wonderful wife met me on-line.

9. I would have been much happier studying biology or history, than the biochem I actually studied.

10. I play RPGs partly to experience the spirituality I have been unable to find in the real world.
