No Elves. High Elves, Grey Elves, Drow Elves, Wood Elves, Llanowar Elves... nothing. There's mention of behemoths, giants, unicorns, and beasts that look remarkably similar to Cereberus, but there's absolutely no mention of pre or post-Tolkien Elves. What gives?

Too many "begets",

Can't give it a "G" rating, kids shouldn't be reading it,

Less formally educated people read it and actually think it's all true, which leads them to acts of genocide, torture and extortion (ie; Crusades, Inquistion, Vatican),

Boring.

And where are the dwarves, with their thundering war hammers?

It does have a guy on a stick. As everyone knows, things are better if they are on a stick.
It doesn't have midgets or flying monkeys. They always spice things up.

I like the tongue-in-cheek answers below, but I'm not witty enough to match them, so, here's what's wrong with the Bible (and there is a lot RIGHT with it also, but this post is only about the bad side). 1) It represents as moral actions, endorsed by God, the most appalling cruelty. The scenes of devastation accompanying the Hebrew invasion of Canaan are horrific. 2) The New Testament makes claims with nearly zero probability of being true and convinces people that their only hope of escaping eternal torture is to believe these claims. That's a recipe for making a real tight-ass, neurotic person.

They kept thinking it's NOT A MYTH! Can they just learn to be a little bit more imaginative?

Although the pages make great roll-yer-owns, there is no tobacco pouch attached, or anywhere to store a lighter.
