The Landover sermon is hilarious. You can find a transcript & audio <a href="http://www.landoverbaptist.org/sermons/GMOW.html" target="_blank">here.</a>

That's 12:35 AM for those of us on the west coast.

Set those VCR's!</strong>

And keep in mind that if they broadcast the event uncut, you are looking at over 4 hours of recording time.

Look at what I found at the C-Span website:

Quote:

28.5 million people tune into C-SPAN’s public affairs programming each week

C-SPAN is available in more than 79 million homes, C-SPAN 2 in 60 million and C-SPAN 3 in over 3 million.

Wow. Even though they're showing the march in the middle of the night, there will still probably be a ton of people watching. Probably a lot more than will ever see this website.

For those late nighters out there ... it's on NOW!

BTW guys, thanks for the posting the times. I wouldn't have even thought to look - and I work for the "damned" cable company . I was really interested as to how the GAMOW went.

Cool

I caught the broadcast yesterday at about 15-30 minutes into it, right in the middle of Kathleen Johnsons' speech (and right before the gathering of the veteran atheists). So I grabbed a tape and started recording it. Things were going great until at exactly 6:00 PM when Montgomery County Comcast cable broke the transmission to show... nothing. Just those stupid default animated community public annoucements.

I immediately moved the tape to another VCR (next to my computer) and went to CSPAN.com and loaded the broadcast there. I then looked around for cables to hook the computer to the VCR. I got audio started, started the recording, and then hunted for the video cable. This was the beginning of Chris Harper's hilarious routine. I finally found a video cable, interrupted the broadcast for a couple of seconds, and then got video recording going as well.

It was great to see this stuff again! All through the broadcast I was reliving that day. I wish I knew about the early-morning rebroadcast on CSPAN2, because I would have tried again and got the whole thing.

I just finished watching (and recording) the entire march on C-Span 2, and I am VERY impressed by what I saw! I must confess that when I first heard about the march I sort of cringed because I assumed that only a handful of people would show up, and I was really afraid that the media would use it to show how "pathetic" and "weak" we atheists/agnostics are here in God's Favorite Country.

I'm sure you can imagine how pleased I was to see literally THOUSANDS of atheists and agnostics marching right in front of the spectacular Capitol building. It was one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen in my entire life.

The speakers were great (especially the Landover preacher!), the music was great, and I almost had tears in my eyes when that video came on that showed so many famous and brilliant atheists and agnostics from the past and present. That song they played during the video ("I am what I am") was terrific.

Did I mention how hilarious the Landover preacher was? I was ROFL when he came on, especially when he started doing that little preacher dance.

I plan to watch the video again and again for years to come. Thanks to everyone who organized and attended this spectacular success.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get some sleep. It's 5 AM and I'm still awake!

On edit: Isn't "I am what I am" something gawd says in the bible? What a coincidence! He and His angels must have been at the rally!

The two words "I am" are used in the Hebrew Bible to refer to God. The Jews can't call God by his real name, so they are restricted to using literary allusions like "I am."

And if ever there was a candidate for a good lightning bolt from God, it would have to be that rally. Over 2,000 of us standing there on a beautiful (but cold) day, just waiting for God to show us his stuff. It looks like you'd have to wait thousands of years for God to do something that was indisputably god-like.

I set a video tape to tape from 3:30-8 a.m. This morning before school, I had about 1/2 hour to watch it... I totally agree about reliving the experience! I felt like cheering every time the crowd cheered. Can't wait to watch the rest.

I attended the Godless Americans March on Washington. It was a pleasure to meet Discussion Forum moderators crazyfingers as well as Bill Schultz (and his lovely wife). Nice choice of America as the post-March restaurant too!

However subsequent publicity on the March has been terribly disappointing. I saw no story whatsoever in the L.A. Times. (If anyone did, could you give date and section?)

Lastly, here on the west coast, C-SPAN broadcast their GAMOW coverage on C-SPAN 2, which my cable company doesn't offer, after midnight on Wednesday, at 12:38 am PST. So I missed it. (But hey, kids: that 4-hour GAMOW videotape is available from C-SPAN for just $59.95!)

I got excellent photos, which I'm scanning as jpgs now. Would enjoy seeing others if any Marchers from here have posted them.
