Yes, in theory. In practice, finding and applying the resonance frequencies of all the various materials would probably be rather difficult. A fusion torch is probably much more feasible.

(For reference, a fusion torch is, essentially, a high-temperature fusion reactor with a long tunnel (of whatever can handle the temperatures involved) leading away from it. Refuse is put into the tunnel, and moved towards the reactor until the energy output shatters the bonds, leaving simple materials and compounds, which can be reused.)

If you're trying to break bonds on the atomic level, I'd have to recommend highly concentrated radiation of some sort, but I don't think you're going to get much of a "shatter" effect like that. More of a "melt".

Same as burning something up? [/B]
Not exactly. Burning is, technically, oxidation, and changes the physical composition of the material. Melting is simply applying energy in a way such that the object undergoes a morphological change- from solid to liquid. From there, it can be boiled or vaporized, depending on substance and conditions.

I find this Japanese Anime quite entertaining and some of it, especially those which sword fighting sequence is actually achievable (of course you cannot achieve a flaming sword effect ... but the movements itself).

PS : Started to punch the walls in my office now ... fist doesn't hurt so much after the first few days, but I have yet to shatter anything (including my fist)

Uh, Seraphim? Don't get your hopes up. Shattering boulders (or walls) with a real-life Futae no Kiwami is about as feasible as snapping falling leaves just by concentrating really really hard...
