When I face reality, I realize no one knows what the hell is going on. That makes it a lot more fun, imo.

Isn't that the key to religious beliefs though--find something that can't be confirmed one way or the other and then make an extraordinary claim about it.

Eh? If someone came back from the grave in order to declare that there is no afterlife they'd be lying, wouldn't they?

The fact that no-one has ever come back from the grave at all adds weight to the argument that there is indeed, no afterlife.

Thumbs down Troll, troll, troll your boat...

We must face reality: the best way to combat the elements of theism we consider detrimental in whatever sense is with rhetoric, polarizing debate and forcing moderates supportive of secular politics into extremist positions. An inclusive, tolerant world in which humanists strive for a better world irrespective of their theological differences has been shown to be a pipe dream, the empty goal of muddleheaded apologists. We enlightened philosophers understand that reasoned and respectful debate has had its day; now is the time for rabid bluster and denouncement! Fundamentalists will see reason if we only shout louder than them, while their liberal fellow-travellers will be persuaded by our example and leave behind their lies. Calling theists idiots and questioning their integrity has only failed before because it wasn't applied on a grand enough scale, so join with me in calling every religious person you know "utterly insane" at 1200 Central European Time tomorrow - we'll see a secular world by Wednesday, i'll wager!

Well, in the absence of positive evidence, isn't that the logical thing to conclude?

They'd love that, they'd have a persecution celebration. "See look, all the non-believers say we're insane. Smell the persecution. Truly the end is at hand!

No, the logical conclusion would be, none of us know for certain, so we should keep an open mind and search out the truth.

That's what we do, you just seem to have already come to your conclusion and are unwilling to examine other evidence, like the Koran and Torah.

Iv'e examined the Koran and concluded its false. The Torah is the beginning of the Bible, so obviously iv'e studied that. I've been studying and reading the Torah since i was a little kid at Synagogue. The Torah is part of Christianity.

I've done the same thing with the Bible.
