Keep in mind that EQ and UO had the founder effect working for them. When released, they were both buggy piles of content-less crap, but there was nothing to compare them to so they wowed you out of the box. A game released right now has to compete with 4 years of development on EQ. I played DAOC from it's opening, and it's amazing how much content just snuck up on you. |

I am enjoying Knights of the Old Republic at the moment, and from what I have seen and heard about Galaxies (I haven't actually played it yet, but I have seen it played), it doesn't look like a game I would really enjoy at the moment. Still, I know a lot of people who love it, so I will probably eventually give it try.

Yeah I still have a character on LustyMUD that I play. Contrary to the name it's adventure orientated. I also programmed on another MUD that was never released

Hah, I pay $19 a month for my mud addiction. What would I do without...
> shoot ram < You fire a large rock at a meadow ram. A meadow ram attempts to evade, leaning wrong and blundering into the blow. The rock lands a massive strike that turns the quadricep to mush and crushes the femur in a mighty strike across the left leg. The large rock lodges itself shallowly into the meadow ram! A meadow ram twists, contorts, and shakes while sputtering out its final breath. [You're solidly balanced] [Roundtime 1 sec.] Sling of death baby! |

Its 15 dollars a month for you to kill monster, earn credits, buy better gun, rinse, repeat. Occasionally do it with others. BOOOORING. If you want something starwarsy, get "star wars: knights of the old republic" instead. it is the rox0r. very good rpg imo. |

Actually what they really need to do is make a Starwars equivilent of World War II online. That would be awesome, oh and don't mention planetside because I played Beta until release and still can't uninstall the damn program, duh why would anyone want to actually be able to uninstall beta software? Stupidass Sony Online Entertainment.

As far as MMORPG's go, the only games worth playing IMO are:
Asheron's Call 1 Darktide server & Shadowbane (the former is still fairly buggy) But, I could never play a MMORGP without free for all pvp, so take that into consideration... |

I'd like to have KOTOR, but no Xbox. I guess that's my pentalty for being a PS2 owner who hates anything Microsoft. Yes I am using Windows XP, but that's as far as my hypocrisy will go. ![]() |
