hehe, i just saw an ad last night that showed someone getting pregnant because they were being irresponsible by smoking pot. that is so ridiculous, i would like to see an ad where someone smokes pot and accidentally wins the lottery. at least they are not blaming pot on terrorism anymore.

My favorite is the one where the kids are smoking weed in one of their dad's study. The one kid finds Dad's gun in a drawer and accidentally shoots his friend. Message: Marijuana is dangerous. The fact that Dad was storing a loaded gun in an unlocked desk had nothing to do with it, it was the weed I tell ya'!

Yeah, I do like those ones where the marijuana cigarettes impregnate the young girl with their half human, half marijuana cigarette spawn, and the one where the marijuana cigarette turns into a gun and kills that guy, but my absolute FAVORITES are the ones where the highbrow intellectual guy verbally destroys his opponents with speculative arguments about how, if drugs were legalized, they would replace ice cream trucks with Crackmobiles and hamburgers would eat YOU instead.

Because whenever one of those come on, I stroke my goatee and think to myself, "Hey. That guy has a point."

I just saw that one for the first time the other day. It was like watching Baptists talk about atheism.

When they first aired the marijuana-pregnancy one during the SuperBowl my irony meter went off the charts and exploded. It was sandwiched nicely between ads for BEER and BEER, and the game itself was a virtual beer commercial.

But nobody *EVER* gets pregnant 'cuz they had a lapse in judgement while they were under the influence of BEER, right? Especially not teenagers! No way, that never happens. 'Cuz that would mean BEER was "more dangerous than we all thought", right, and we couldn't totally squeeze every advertising possibility out of it during a "family sporting event" right???

Beer is GOOD! All-American! Practically like water!!!
Not like that wretched devil weed....

/sarcasm

(Note: the above is in no way meant to defame or slander beer but merely to point out the *hypocrisy* of the ever-selective and pathetic War on Drugs).

- Drivers who fail to use their turn signals at appropriate, legally defined, moments.

- Drivers who feel the need to chit-chat on the cell phone while manuevering their two tons of steel, aluminium and glass at excessive speeds on public roads. (Note here that _any_ speed is an excessive speed if you are talking on a cellphone, hand-held _or_ hands-free.)

- Drivers who fail to have their vehicles repaired, even though it belches voluminous quantities of smoke and toxins into the air.

- Drivers who drive 10 mph or more below the posted speed limit in the left lane, even though there is plenty of room to switch to the right-hand lane, where they belong.

- Bicycle riders who think they are immune from observing the laws governing vehicle use on public streets.

- Elected officials who state publicly that they won't support legislation banning use of DVD viewers by drivers operating motor vehicles unless they have sufficient evidence that it endangers others.

- Dog owners for whom the phrase, "Taking the dog for a walk" is a euphemism for "Taking the dog to crap on somebody else's property."

- Dog owners who take their dog to run off-leash at a park, even though the park is clearly posted as an on-leash area.

- Stupid city laws that prevent me from shooting off-leash dogs that roam off their own property.

- All wireless communications companies, but AT&T in particular.

- Any elected official or candidate who uses the stupid assertion that "government should be run like a business."

- Anybody who purchases a vehicle that burns more than a gallon of petrol for every ten miles travelled for the "image" it provides.

- Trickle-down theory.

- Growing public indebtedness of the United States government that comes of spending more and collecting less.

- Local elected officials that will prostitute the public coffer to attract a professional athletic team to the area.

- State and local officials that will debauch the tax coffers to attract new or expanded businesses to the area by offering tax deferrals or tax forgiveness.

- Planned obsolescence that creates mounds of toxic solid waste.

- Imperious public agencies that go through the motions of seeking public input on prospective projects and then select only that input that supports their specific objectives, often ignoring more cogent and to-the-point criticisms of the project.

- Morons who refer to the "liberal media".

- Theistic zealots who think that imposing their delusions on others is an honorable thing to do.

- Any government that aids and abets theistic zealots in imposing their delusion on others, particularly by providing them monies raised as tax revenues.

WHAT!!!?

You mean that tee-shirt I have that _clearly_ states,

"Beer: Helping ugly people get laid since 1897,"

is a LIE?

Oh, no!

Hey.... Maybe they mean that it will help you get laid, but not get pregnant?

Y'think?

Angry It pisses me off...

...that rational voices are drowned out by the numerous and loud voices of the ignorant.

Uh... I'm not sure I understand this one.

Nobody has ever been able to provide me a reasonable definition of "art", not to mention "fashion". Can you?
