Hi Old Posting Buddy! Do I call you Albion here, exclusively
Probably. I wouldn't have used my own name over there if I'd known there was an option not to, but the registration form isn't exactly clear, and by the time I twigged that some people were posting under other IDs, I'd already amassed a fair number of posts (not very observant!).

But, answer my sciency question! What is wrong with the whale fossils recently found? How come the creationist boys don't get those rubbed across their reality hostile snouts?
Morton's Demon, probably. Their own fundamentalist reality is more important to them than minor details like scientific evidence. I remember one person who'd mentioned trying to find God but being concerned about having to stop using her mind and accepting science if she became a Christian being told by a fundamentalist that there was nothing to worry about because there were a lot of well-respected creationist scientists. Of course I got into deep trouble with the fundamentalists on that board after happening to mention that the only people who respected creationists were other creationists. Not that they tried to deny it or anything, but apparently I shouldn't have said it.
