... I would say that I was hallucinating and that I should maybe stop taking Scopolamine and Atropine.

I think a slight abberation of this is always a fun question to put to christian fundamentalists: If the almighty Allah showed himself and revealed that you were mislead, would you convert to Islam? If they say 'no' then you can tell them, "that proves that your faith is based on emotion and brainwashing in the place of reason"; If they say 'yes'(after hesitation I'm sure) then you can say "well thats exactly how I feel about Jehovah, Good day!"

Gotta give them credit though. They can handle the concept that Jesus is God and they have learned to add. After all, isn't 1 + 1 = 1? These folks would make sharp systems analysts, except for one trait. They can synthesize, but they can't analyze. [ December 06, 2002: Message edited by: doodad ]</p> |

It really wouldn't take much of a God for me to believe in. Not being a Christian I don't demand that it be a one-of-a-kind, creator of everything sort of God. Apollo, Dionysus, Lugh…hell, if that good looking kid from the Smallville TV show were real he'd be God enough for me. I wouldn't even be that concerned over being tricked. If some entity seemed god-like I'd be happy to believe it was a God.
Worship is another story. Other than filling the bank accounts of priests and ministers, worship is senseless. Why would you worship a God? |

Well, "Mohammedans" (yes I must use the most insultive term) themselves consider Allah to be the same god as YHW but that really doesn't enter in to it. They practice their religions differently, and therefore one group must be mislead, right? So even if it is the same god the challenge still stands when he tells one group (in this case our own backyard fundies) they have been mislead and need to convert. |

That was a good line of discussion in your previous bit, by the way. I've asked very similar questions, ususally to hear that it doesn't matter since Allah coming down to say they were wrong isn't possible because Christianity is right. Just two thoughts... |
