Ugh! I just heard this "Pet Psychic" on NPR's "To the Best of Our Knowledge." The interviewers scarcely even pretended to be skeptical about her supposed abilities.
She did a cold reading -- and not even a good one -- and they acted like she was the genuine article. I was so disgusted at the lack of skepticism that I sent them an e-mail about it. Somehow, I doubt I'll receive a reply, though. I really expected better from NPR. --Michael |

I have, however, seen some pet "psychics" who do much better cold readings and sometimes they are quite entertaining. I've also seen animal behaviorists who are quite adept at understanding the animals they handle. They just don't pretend it's some supernatural phenomenon. |

I gotta chime in with the rest now that I've channel surfed through her show... not only is she nothing more than a cold reader... she isn't even a terribly good one.

I find it hard to accept the credibility of someone reading the mind of an animal. The animal cannot speak or otherwise corroborate or refute what the "psychic" says.

The latest thing about her someone told me makes it so obvious she's a phony it's funny.
She claims if you sent a mental image of your pet to the pet, then call the pet's name, just wait and listen. THE FIRST THING YOUR IMAGINATION TELLS YOU is the communication from the pet? Huh? That's so silly I can't believe anyone would buy it. |
