This is exactly right. Whilst there is every bit as much diversity of thought in Judaism as in Christianity, generally the more conservative one is, the more likely one is to be a YEC.

The reason you don't hear much about it is that they do not deny the science, try to have "alternative theories" taught in schools, etc. They are more honest -- they simply say things like, "Yes, I believe that the science indicates that that fossil is 60 MM years old, and yes, I believe that G-d created the universe in 6 days about 6,000 years ago." When pushed, they'll still acknowledge the science and say something about mysterious ways.

It's not that important to them. More important is obeying His laws.

LOL! Shows they know just how sharp their audience is. Wouldn't want the YECs to think that "red" was from strawberry jam or something.

I would guess that since the practitioners of orthodox Judaism ( or any other brand of Judaism as far as I know) do not have a tendency to proselytize, they would tend to fly right under your radar. Devnet may have a different perspective since the orthodox sects appear to be much more vocal and active in Israel than anywhere else.

They were, of course, quoting that bastion of evolutionary theory (to them, apparently), Lord Tennyson, concerning "survival of the fittest," which they seem to think is the whole of evolutionary theory.

And those that Devnet was acquainted with seemed to be fond of Philip Gosse's created-appearance hypothesis, which states that it was reasonable for Mr. G. to create a Universe that looks much older than it really is. Thus, Adam and Eve were created with navels, that tree in the Garden of Eden was created with rings in its wood, and the Universe was created with the appearance of great age.

But a very common reaction to this hypothesis is that it is a hypothesis of divine fraudulence.

For their list of present day scientists, AiG only list YECs. Those three are not YECs.
