That would be me. The cat has a door, but she prefers to use the people door, and I'm her door bitch. I also let her eat ice cream from my spoon and drink from my glass...

She had no interest in whole sheets of the paper, though.

how utterly bizarre. perhaps it was the taste and smell of the specific dye they used, but who knows. I guess she didnt like entire sheets because they were too big to be eaten easily, or she just didnt like the shape <we all know how picky these damn cats are >.

eh? what?

Does not compute.

Well, if you can make it work, I guess I'm happy for you.

But I don't think I could have married someone who didn't want a cat!

As things stand, my husband is as much a slave to our Small Furry Masters as I am... Of course, I had my cat when we started dating and I'm a "love me - love my cat" kind of gal.

If anything, it was a point in my husband's favor that Charlie (my cat) gave him the stamp of approval.

Obviously, a fellow cat lover would have been preferable had I found such a person. However, her dislike/fear of cats wasn't enough to make me reject her.

Could you maybe start her out with a tiny baby kitten? Those aren't very scary.

Heck, that's how my first cat got around my mom. She was scared of cats, but he was just a little kitten, and half-starved and injured into the bargain.

She became as bad a sucker for him as I was. Baby talk and everything.

Just had a question - Were you between cats when you got together with her? Or did you have to give up your cat to be with her?

Or you can tell me it's none of my damn business...

I've seen her around a kitten. Kittens still sneak around in the dark and they still jump on things with those paws that have been all over the floor.

Between isn't exactly the right description--I was at college and simply didn't have any practical way to have a cat at that time.

My dad used to hate the cats but after one had mine (only survivor of the litter), he's totally changed. Now he'll tell me things that my cat did, since I'm not at home. But then again, she's an outside cat and for some reason, her and my dog will sit outside and watch the neighborhood together.

My cat will occasionally drink out of his water bowl but mainly drinks out of our fish pond - he leaves the fish alone though. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the frogs!!!

I got pretty fed up a couple of evenings ago. I made a big bowl of salade nioise and since I was on my own I couldn't eat all that much of it, but since I love it I looked forward to eating some the next day. I dashed off to the loo for a couple of minutes, and when I got back my Burmese cat was on the work surface with his head in the bowl, picking out all the tuna and anchovies. I refused to reward him by letting him continue, so I had to throw the lot away.

I still love him, of course.

The strangest food preference I think I've ever seen in a cat was a tom we had when I was a young adolescent (lo, these maaaany years ago). He had a real jones for cantaloupe.

We humans would take advantage of the bowl formed by a cantaloupe cut in half with the seeds scooped out and eat the meat out of this ready-made bowl. During this process, Boots was a complete pest, begging for tidbits.

Then... once finished, we'd throw the rine outside onto the drive and watch Boots get both front paws and his face into the bowl to clean out whatever cantaloupe meat was left. He did a verrry thorough job of it, but he looked absolutely hilarious while doing it.
