Ha ha! It's funny you say that! There was an editorial in my local paper about how W was out promoting this day as we're deploying thousands of troops to the area!

"But Mr. President, sanctity of life? What about this massive deployment of troops and arms?"

"Well, life should be protected. Except for Saddam's. He is part of the Axis of Evil (TM). Don't you people pay attention to my speeches?"

From the SFGate.com column by Mark Morford that Toto posted:
Quote:
So there it is. National Sanctity of Life Day. The perfect opportunity for the rest of us sentient, sexually attuned self-defined being on the planet to declare each of the other 364 days of the year either "Pipe Down And Keep Your Whiny Religious BS Out Of My Sex Life Day," or "Spank an Uptight Anti-Choice Groupthink Dinkmonkey Whilst Embracing And Sucking The Toes of Your Own Funky Gorgeous Ability to Think For Yourself Day," -- either of which, I think we can all agree, will look absolutely fabulous on a greeting card.
This is one of the finest rants I've ever read. Thanks for posting it.

The more I learn about the Shrub Administration, the more I am dumbfounded. How do they get away with it?

I think the British have enough problems with the Reverend A. Blair, MA (Oxon), but Bush takes the biscuit!

I think he's gunning for a "life begins at conception" ruling so pregnant Iraqi women killed in the war will count as two-fers.

That sick fuck.

I, too, am amazed that the "sanctity of human life" doesn't extend to the children of Iraq and their families.

Edit: "amazed" is the wrong word; substitute: "sickened," "angered," "dismayed," "distressed," etc.
