I've asked him for details of his cow-kangaroo claim. That's usually enough to kill one of those conversations stone dead. These people aren't details men on the whole.

Carnivorous cows, eh? Is that "adaptation within a kind", or do ya' think he went to Texas A&M and learned about Evilution?

If human DNA is closer to kangaroo DNA than bovine DNA then I dare say that they can might try to find some examples at:

Apparently if you feed cows enough meat, they develop a taste for it and go out in search of more.

although, if it continues...
