heh, it would be difficult, since the cross shape also comes in ancient Indian symbology.
It's a fairly basic motif quite wide-spread over the globe in history.

Wow, this is in my backyard! Well, I'm in Bremerton. Apologist all you want, Auburn is in the middle of the Seattle/Tacoma area there are tons of municiple buildings around there. I would move for a mistrial if I was the defense. Just have the defendant say he is something other than christian and feels he can't get a fair trial. It's a stretch but it might work.

I'm Sure as hell not sending mine back. Sure, it's a cross...but I sure couldn't find no Jesus hangin' on it.

I really HATE this kind of thin-skinned victimology BS! It's as childish as an African-American that perceives racial prejudice because paper is white with black letters.

Wow. Reading the article in the link, I thought Auburn was some remote town in the boonies of Alabama (an association with Auburn University probably influenced that interpretation).

I didn't know you could get a change of venue on account of facilities. I thought that was frowned upon.

I've been to Auburn, AL it's neither remote nor in the boonies.

You'd be closer with Auburn, GA which lies between Athens and Atlanta, but is missed by the major roadways and offers little insentive to go there unless you live there.

So you have a DSC, eh? From which conflict, may I ask?

Please excuse me if I seem a bit skeptical on that one...it's just that there aren't too many DSC recipients out there, and quite a few DSC claimants are wannabees. I'm not saying *you personally* are a DSC wannabe. I'm just being careful regarding military claims to valor.

On a similar note of interest, when I was in the 2nd grade (~1978) the school building was old, e.g. bricks falling from the chimney, and had to be condemned. The kindergarten and 1st grades were bussed of to a local Methodist church and the 2nd grade to a local Mennonite church for the entire school year. (This was in extremely rural NW Ohio,part of the northern bible belt.) We were in the classroom type areas away from the sanctuary, but there were still portraits of Jebus, crosses, and other churchy stuff everywhere. I think they did that for 2 or 3 years until a new school was built.
