My reply : Because sooner or later, you will be running out of "packs" of humans to use and end up back where you had started before.

that's rather shortsighted. we have 7 billion humans on this planet, with millions more being born nearly every day. it would take eons to get through them all, and once you have, you'd find you couldn't end up where you started, because generations would've passed.

As would I, but my idea of "benefits" are different.

Right now I'm thinking of intelligence officers who defected from the USSR during the Cold War, or Western spies who managed to infiltrate the KGB to bring back valuable intelligence about Soviet military operations. Was this betrayal? Certainly. But it was for a greater good.

Quo Bono (Who Benefits)? I suppose that's one of the many questions that must be asked here.

Betrayal can be good, or it can be bad.

We know who does not benefit: the person who has been betrayed.
For that person, the betrayal was not moral, nor was it ethical..

Well put. Humans are, like any other resource, meant to be used and discarded as necessary in my quest for obtaining what I desire.

Sometimes this means befriending and sometimes this means betraying.

you must be the type to love 'em and leave 'em, eh feather?

fuck and forget; the new way for a new world: Bugger our children then kick them on to the streets, pretend to read grannys' electric meter, while secretly robbing her blind: use real ducks as target practice: hey, its open season on the 'hare krshna': fuck 'em all

My reply : Not necessily.

Most of us do not leave the country of your origin and settle down in another once a year or something. Most of us will settle down in one community and travel here and there. People in other community may not be as easy target as the one you came from simply because the community which you came from, knows you and there for, knowing you could net you further trust than from another community that is alien to you or you're alien to them.

Another thing is your reputation of a cheater could go forward before you could. Afterall, they did say - "Words travel fast", didn't they?

Even if you cheat one person in one community, when the rest of them get the news, they will all have their defence up and ready to look at you with doubtful eyes, no matter how truthful your words are.

For me, I don't lie to another person and I will expect the other person to be truthful to me as well ... no matter what the truth is. I don't not take what not belongs to me and if I had to take it, I will leave something to tell the owner that I have taken it or using it now or leave something of equal value in its place.

not really. you'd be surprised how easier it is to manipulate people who don't know you. that's what social engineering is about. you'd be surprised at the amount of con artists and hackers who succesfully use it.
