Default Hello again

I don't know if any one noticed my leaving, but my computer fried about a year ago, and it took me a while to replace it. Just in case you didn't know, it is wise to unplug the PHONE LINE, as well as the power during thunderstorms.

I thought I should probably say hi, before I jumped into some of the discussions, otherwise people would wonder who the h--- I was. I do tend to lurk more than post. I would rather make an intelligent point, than just run up my post count.

Speaking of post count, I know I wasn't prolific, but I know that I was over 100 when my computer died. What happened to the thirty plus posts that are gone?

Hi Josie,

Welcome back seems kinda weird since I'm still kinda new here, so I'll just say nice to meet ya.

Welcome back!

About six months ago, nearly everybody lost some posts. I'm not sure what the deal was.

the deal was that six months ago we switched from UBB to vB and, like Abacus said, nearly everybody lost some posts.

My personal theory is that not all of the old posts in the archives were counted in people's post counts, so people who have been here longer and had posts in the archives had their post counts take a hit. JMHO.

Welcome back, Josie.

Two pieces of advice for you. One, get a surge protector with the phone line plugs in it. And two, beware of scary rednecks who feed people to their pigs.

That will do jack-shit to protect your equipment from a lightning strike. Those protect against man-made power surges, not acts of Thor.

Welcome back, Josie!

Act of Thor was right! I was still up when the lighting struck, and the flash nearly blinded me, and the whole house shook. It took out my phone, answering machine and computer. I'm just lucky that it didn't take the receiver for the satellite dish.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, like I said, I don't always post much, but I love to read what everyone has to say.
