The moderation here is quite cheese-filled and delicious. Descent with modification from this standard is certainly not imperative, as far as my sock puppets and I are concerned. However --Automaton for moderator! (and the socks rejoiced)

I would like to see the personality flame wars shoved over to Rants, Raves and Preaching.

Other than that, I think the mods are doing a fine job.

I especially enjoy Scigirl and PS418 when they post stuff here that has more of an actual hard science bent.

As a layman, I’m sometimes not sure that I have any business butting in on this forum where both the knowledge and erudition of the resident scientists is awesome. But the Moderators not having invited me - so far - to stick to Rants, Raves and Preachings, I value the tolerance which allows me to post here. They will understand, therefore, why I think they are doing a great job!

As for the moderating, keep it moderate!

Don't worry about being a laymen and posting here. My education background is mostly undergrad level geography and geomatics. You certainly don't need a PhD or be a professional scientist to rebut creationist arguments. This is an ideal place to ask questions too, regarding something we don't understand with evolutionary biology.

Sometimes I feel I'm in a bit over my head here compared to the other posters, but I've always found the creation/evolution controversy interesting to read about. And I got a compliment from scigirl one time regarding my posts and an email debate I had with a creationist professor a while ago, so that was one hell of an ego boost.

it is quite nice as it is.
now if only all my posts were automatically moved to the top of the page, bathed in a golden glow, presented in a larger, more elegant font, in a nice shade of royal blue, well then it would be heaven, er, make that perfect.

This is good.

I would not want to see a Baptist Board opperation, or even the level of intervention currently at ARN.

I feel that racism and bigotry are not needed, and should not be acceptable. If posts are deleted, or threads closed, do tell us why as clearly as possible.

I see no reason to vary from current practice.

Thanks.</strong>
Agreed. Moderators have a tough job. If they do it right, you don't know they're there. Talk about thankless!

And I'll have a notdog.
