Not to derail the topic (moreso )...but in brief, it's a Multi Level Marketing scheme.

Example: I sell products (and get a cut of sales), but I also "recruit" new sellers. Now, I don't get a "cut" of your sales, per se. But I get "points" for what you sell. I also get points for all your points (which inlcudes your recruits. your recruits recruits, and so on).

In the end, it isn't about selling products. It's about recruiting buyers, because Amway members buy the majority of their products.

Basically, I get paid for bringing new customers to Amway (although they will never, ever use such terms in meetings).

I did it for...oh...three months. I can honestly say that I have never been so sickened by an organizational culture in my life. (and I was an RC for 25 years! ...oh relax, it's a joke.)

Even in only three months time, the stories I have would make you puke.

I do know of an online friend who believes in Neo-Tech (indeed this was my main motivation in starting this thread). I understand he was exposed to the philosophy of Objectivism prior to this. Perhaps, because Neo-Tech is a sort of extension to Objectivism, moving to Neo-Tech would seem a `natural' next step to take.

Thanks, that's comforting. Still, just for curiosity's sake, does anyone knows of any resources for getting (independent) membership estimates for such groups?

Since I discovered this thread I tried to look up some information on the "Neo-Tech" cult because I love cult zaniness. However, what I found just sounded like a flaky new-age counselor not the truly psychotically depraved ramblings I had my heart set on.
