Example: I sell products (and get a cut of sales), but I also "recruit" new sellers. Now, I don't get a "cut" of your sales, per se. But I get "points" for what you sell. I also get points for all your points (which inlcudes your recruits. your recruits recruits, and so on). In the end, it isn't about selling products. It's about recruiting buyers, because Amway members buy the majority of their products. Basically, I get paid for bringing new customers to Amway (although they will never, ever use such terms in meetings). I did it for...oh...three months. I can honestly say that I have never been so sickened by an organizational culture in my life. (and I was an RC for 25 years! ...oh relax, it's a joke.) Even in only three months time, the stories I have would make you puke. |

Since I discovered this thread I tried to look up some information on the "Neo-Tech" cult because I love cult zaniness. However, what I found just sounded like a flaky new-age counselor not the truly psychotically depraved ramblings I had my heart set on.
One cult I do really like can be found at: http://www.transtopia.org. The cult of the Technocalypse™! It may be crazy but dammit if they don't throw around some interesting ideas. |
