Default Bush, fuzzy budget math, and he has an MBA?

Bush redefines stupid with new Budget

That's right kiddies, through the miracle of say be true, must be true, Bush plans on cutting the deficit spending he created by cutting programs that consist of approximately 16% of the total budget. Then the remaining 84% is to have budgets increased by upwards of 5%. And then, he'll toss on some lump sum requests, such as $80 billion extra for Iraq/Afghanistan. Put this all together, some mindless sheep and BOOM! you've got the new Budget for Bush.

Hang on: if he says he's aiming to halve the budget by 2009, then each year might look like the following (assuming a linear trend):

2005: $400b
2006: $333b
2007: $267b
2008: $200b

This means a four-year deficit of $1.2 trillion dollars, added to a debt of ~$7 trillion.

Or am I missing something?

Apparently that also neglects the whole supplements for our war on terror. So its even worse! Also, he "predicted" a deficit of about $510 billion in 2005, and therefore it would be "only" $255 billion in 4 years!

Wait, he's cutting spending, but somehow is managing to raise the deficit? Good lord.

The war spending. It's going to be a lot worse.

Yeah, my numbers are low. My point was more that Bush, even with my low numbers, will be increasing the national debt by ~20% over 4 years, and claims this as a success.

:rolling: :rolling:

I always wonder what the people who voted for him think when they look at this kind of stupidity.
