The gravitational redshift from the Sun has been measured: a whoppin' 2.12 parts per million. It gets pretty noticeable for white dwarw stars, though.

edit: white dwarw stars are those with white underwear. They have similar redshifts to white dwarf stars.

Athough these creationists don't cite any specific examples, they claim that it is possible to have a doctorate removed.

I've never heard of it being done. It seems extremely unlikely to me -- a doctorate is awarded for work that has been done, and I don't know how you could retroactively decide it hadn't been done after all.

It's just more of that creationist martyr complex.

I've never heard of it either. It was just wishful thinking on my part... as unfair as it sounds.

If you could somehow show that the work that was done to earn the Doctorate was plagiarized (see "Lobachevsky" - T. Lehrer(1950)) you might have a case for retroactive revocation, but that's the only scenario I can think of. Given the scrutiny that "legitimate" PhD candidates are under however, I'd be very surprised if someone who was actively plagiarizing could get all the way to and then successfully defend a Dissertation.

Cool

I remember reading in the paper more than a year
ago that the University of Leeds removed a PhD from someone due to plagiarism. He had the opportunity to explain to some committee why some of the contents of his thesis had already appeared
somewhere else. They didn't find his explanations
satisfactory so they removed his degree.

And how exactly did the global flood produce these?
