Rolling Stone came out with their greatest rockers of all time. Paul McCartney ranked first. Unbelievable! I voted John Lennon in this poll.

I voted for John Lennon. I just feel he was the most talented and well rounded of them.

You forgot to include Stu Sutcliffe (died of brain hemorrhage in '62) and Pete Best (fired in '62).

I voted for George, because I'm a guitarist, and I've always loved the fact that in all the solos, riffs and chords he recorded for the Beatles he never played a note that wasn't perfect for the song. He was the embodiment of the egoless lead guitarist; never concerned with showcasing his own playing, merely concentrating on improving or completing the band's sound.

I think John Lennon is one of the most brilliant songwriters of all time. Well, he's probably the co-greatest songwriter of all time; along with Paul McCartney. I just liked John as a person better too.

Despite his shortcomings (and there were a few), I had to go with John Lennon. He was so unbelievably brilliant. One of my earliest memories was seeing something on TV about his death. Even as a small child I picked up that "something isn't right" vibe. It was probably a retrospective of some sort a year or two after his death.
I almost had to go with George, though. He was such a cool guy. When I woke up that morning and heard he was dead, my entire world shut down. I even had to call in sick that day...I wasn't in any shape to attend class. When Paul dies, I'm probably going to have to crawl into my closet for a few days. |

I'm a Paul girl m'self. I still haven't forgiven Heather Mills for ruining my chances.

I like John, but Ringo gets the nod for "Caveman" and having the hottest babe for a wife.
let's see... Yoko Ono or Barbara Bach.... hmm... |

I have this long-running argument ('discussion') with my wife where she claims that the Beatles were 'utter crap' whereas I claim that they were hugely innovative and profoundly influential.
She recently countered me quite neatly be saying "if they're so bloody great, how come you never actually listen to any of their records?" GRRR! I hate it when she's right! [I voted for John Lennon BTW] Dibble. |
