Who would you say are the ten most powerful nations in the world? Be it in an economic, military or diplomatic context.

In terms of overall global influence (Ecconomic, Military, and Diplomatic) -

1. United States
2. China
3. Japan
4. Russia
5. France
6. United Kingdom
7. Germany
8. India
9. Italy
10. South Korea

A better question would be what are the top ten nations in the world which treat their own citizens well? This is what makes a nation truly great.

1. Norway
2. Sweden
3. Canada

Britian placed 13th. after France.

I think that the highest the US ever placed was 5th while under Clinton. Well, it wouldn't be the first time someone has been under Clinton.

You're putting emphasis on the wrong places, here is where the emphasis is supposed to be:

But the question was which nations are the most powerful, and I for the most part agree with Syphor, at least with the top four.
