This is not really about religion, but wasn't the church set that nightcrawler was found in the same as the one where Daredevil fought Bullseye? I Think that they just put up lots of tarp to disguise the fact.

On the Rouge having sex thing. I seem to remember a place in one of the comics where their mutant powers were negated. It's been a long time though so my mind might be making this up.
