I see over and over on the news topics about god and prayers, and no one questions that.

I see it differently. I see the media actually being incredibly neutral when they're confronted with the statements you refer to.
KXAS, the NBC television affiliate here in the Dallas area, is hardly prayer-neutral. They often run "power of prayer"-type stories, and it's not the human interest fluff that appears at the end to kill the remaining time, mind you. It's often part of the feature stories. And the newscasters say things like, "Our thoughts and prayers are with them." So, I can't imagine anyone on the staff questioning prayer. I don't know what the other stations do since I only watch them once in a while.

My local paper has a whole *section* devoted to "faith and values" (with a heavy emphasis on Xianity), but not a single section or page devoted to science. And we wonder why society is so screwed up?

In almost every case they ignore the religous statement and just continue with their previous line of questioning.
Not anymore, thanks to Bush and his little crusade. Allow me to refer to the April 14th issue of Time Magazine. In it, you will see an Arab man in Baghdad standing the rubble of his home, arms oustretched, with the caption, "Prince of Peace".

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but you've got the wrong prophet.

American media.
Bah.
