-- and there is a book coming; I just haven't read it yet.

I do think there wasn't really a way they could have given us a complete ecosystem, and I don't think that future forest only contained the squibbons and the megasquid. I'm betting the reason most of what we saw was on the weirder side was because this was a TV show, and they figured we wouldn;t want to see the speication of the future equivalent of mice.

It really did annoy me that they kept using will rather than could. That was probably the single worst mistake of the show.

I still think it might spark some imaginations. I hope it does.

Even if they did't directly describe additional animals, they could have portrayed them in the background. I just had a feeling, also, especially after visiting the website, that the people who made the show really just winged it with the material, and fundamentally didn't know what they were talking about.

Why are you stricken with fear?

-- If you'll notice, I've been doing individual sigs throughout this thread; NPM picked up on this, that what I've been doing in them is punning on animal names from After Man. Strigers, bardelots, reedstilts, groaths, -- and now the strick.

Just a pun, is all.

I tend to agree, by the way, that this came out hastily; that's why I'm betting the book will have greater depth.
