I have a pseudo-friend who is doing that exact same thing (minus the skin-darkening part) for the Aveda company right now. She is a yoga expert and is very knowledgeable in Hindu practises, et cetera. The company has sent her into northern India disguised as a Hindu convert so she can gather information for them.

No doubt a lot of conservative Xians would cheer though - hey! more martyr's for the cause, and since they're no longer infidel dogs, they're sittin with baby Jeezus right now. It's a sick and twisted world, ain't it? The San Diego Atheist |

That way they would have their visas denied and wouldn't have a chance to witness or be martyred. -Mike... |

I think the foremost source tends to be people who became atheists after the fact. They can then draw upon their past experiences, and say, "Wow, that was some really wacky stuff I did back then."
But for an atheist to go to the trouble of "infiltrating" is much less likely. That said, I still think I'd like to visit a couple of "adherents only" sites, like that big mormon temple. p.s. Bree? What exactly does Aveda do that requires more religious knowledge? |
