Everybody complains about the US National Anthem. The tune itself is from an awful drinking song, it's hard to sing for mere mortals, and the words are just too sappy to bear. Admit it: Francis Scott Key was a hack, and the national anthem was a rush job.

So what song should replace it? Any suggestions?

How about "We Gotta Get Outta This Place" by the Animals. Sounds good to me. It captures the character of this nation on so many levels, I can't begin to list them all. Plus, it's easy to sing and has a really catchy chorus. Everybody already knows the words.

You got a better idea?

Sort of a weird anthem for a country that depends on immigration for the bulk of its population growth.
