Truly the highlight, no doubt. In light of the recent financial and moral insolvency of the Church, perhaps a merger with Krispy Kremes is in order? I don't know how much it would help financially , but it would have to improve the contemporary relevancy, moral authority, and image of the Church! |

Well, maybe there is no fine in the Moslim world for not attending the mosque, but the peer pressure on the families by the environment is tremendous.
And of-course I am an old man, but as a kid I HAD to go to church every day. I could chose: in college, or in my parish. In college supervion was easy. If I chose to go to church in my parish, I had a small card which had to be stamped by the parish priest and submit to my school. Escape was not possible. Punishment in the form of school attendance on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday afternoons was the direct result of not going to church, plus the lingering thought that if you didn't behave your grades could suffer. Yes, in the sixties, and the 20th century. |
