Default Precognitive Dreams

Okay, on Saturday on my drive to work, strange thing happend...

At around 3.15am I had a dream, in this dream i was in my car, driving down a northern section of the motorway that I havn't been on for a while, and there were some cyclists in the fast lane. I get past one okay, but then I come across 2 riding side by side, and suddenly everything starts to speed up and it becomes difficult to maintain control of the car/dream, causing me to wake up suddenly. I sit up in bed, my mouth is dry as hell, lean out of my bed for my drink bottle, take a swig, and go back to sleep.

So now its about 9.15am and I'm driving to work. I'm already off the motorway, and onto a main road. And I see a cyclist. I rarely if ever encounter cyclists on this road, and still remembering my dream, this strikes me as kinda odd, but i pass him with no problem. Then a minute later, I come across ANOTHER cyclist, this kind of freaks me out and i pause for a couple seconds. Then I realise i should just pass him, i glance out my side mirror and i'm about to pull out, when the guy directly behind me decides he's not happy with my slow acceleration, and immediately overtakes me, causing me to quickly stop my lane change.

So, hadn't i paused for that brief moment, i could have moved into the other lane to pass the cyclist, and have been clipped by the impatient fast car. It wouldn't have been a major accident, but it would have been a smash none the less.

I'm also quite certain that I had this dream, I've had deja vu before, where i "believe" I have had the situation happen in a dream, but this was entirely different.

Also, the locations were completely different, but the core message was the same, "look out for cyclists, bad thing could happen"

Anyone else had something like this happen? this is the first time i can recall this happening... and the situation itself makes for quite an improbable coincidence. (as i said before, cyclists on that road are very rare, and i can't particularly recall seeing ONE at all, let alone 2)

That is a strange coincidence. I've heard this happening before with a friend of mine, and the coincidences often included me.

One thing to ponder ... the road you were on was a road that you normally take to work. I realize that many times on a drive to work I barely notice the surroundings around me because I so used to the drive.

Perhaps the dream you had was in the forefront of your mind, making you more prone to noticing the cyclists on the road.

Possibly, though, the individual lanes in the road are kinda narrow, so any cyclist there would cause you to have to move into the other lane to get past them, and being a busy road, its not an easy thing to do and should be noticeable...

If cyclists do take that route... i'd think they'd be more inclined to take the sidewalk.

Years ago, I was on a plane to California for a meeting. Though I usually can't sleep on a plane, I had put the seat back, closed my eyes, and was in that "twilight zone" where you're not fully asleep, yet not really awake. I think the plane was shaking somewhat from turbulence, but in my semi-asleep state, I had the distinct impression that I had been in an eathquake. I woke up fairly quickly, and told my wife about it. We both shrugged it off as just an overactive imagination stimulated by traveling to California. We landed in San Francisco in the afternoon and got to the hotel about 4:00 pm. That was Tuesday, Oct 17, 1989, and one hour later was the 7.1 Loma Prieta earthquake, that collapsed the Bay bridge, and wrecked the Marina district, among other damage. Intellectually, I know it was just coincidental. I am absolutely not a superstitious person, and I do not believe in any kind of premonitions, or clairvoyance. But still, it makes you wonder...

Hey, in order to improve the stastics, I would just like to note that nothing like that has ever happened to me.
