Do login cookies expire if you've been idle for a certain amount of time? I am very much in favor of such a thing. I can live with "Server Too Busy" errors when I'm trying to read threads and such, but it's really not cool when I get "Server Too Busy" when I'm trying to log out.
Thanks, Leighton |

I don't think that cookies expire. But the "server too busy" messages should start to die out as that one topic which was generating so much volume has been removed from the public forums.
If you left a cookie on a public server then I suggest that you change your password. That will invalidate the old cookie. |

I never had problems logging out until today, when I was working from home (and security here is not an issue). I'll just be careful in the future when I'm logging in from the school computer labs.

You can delete cookies yourself. I always do that when I access II from a public server rather that relying on the logout to do it. The details vary depending on which browser and operating system you are using.
If you are using IE, go to tools -> internet options. That will pop up a dialog box. Click on the view files button. That will give you yet another window. There, go to files -> select all, then click on the delete button in the tool bar. There are other (shorter) ways to do it, but that is the safest. |
