I disagree, I think that any of the truly great physicists of the last century (Albert Einstein, Richard Feynman, etc..) would be more than capable of making a sizable impression on the scientific field. Provided, of course that they were resurrected at a suitable age, and with enough life remaining to catch up on what has happened in their absence. However, I doubt that this would necesarrily be the best way to advance physics. The next generation of students may hold people with just as much if not more potential.

i'd pick a child who had died only moments ago. i'd have him resesitated immediately to prevent the grief of their parents. being a one shot deal, that would seem to be the most humane thing to do.

In short, what any historical figure may have said is of only historical significance. It has no moral significance. Worshipping the words of any historical figure is a mistake.

This has no relevance to the specific comment made. I didn't state that a Madison had moral authority or was always right. I merely stated that a historical figure could come back and have impact and thus contradicting your comment.

Or maybe Jesus is already risen from the dead in which case he would be the one person impossible to bring back, thus either confirming or disproving all of Christianity.

I would take a rain check on my own death. Any attempt to bring back a historical figure with the idea to benefit the world could backfire in terrible unpredictable ways.

For analogy, if we could alter history to prevent wwII, should we? Maybe that would set back science advances enough so that we cannot prepare for a future asteroid strike in time, and we all get exterminated.

If I can't have the rain check, I'd offer my option on e-bay.
