It doesn't appear to be entirely false. I have a hard copy of the actual newspaper and the story is printed on the first page of the Metro/NW section of the Oregonian. The joking nature of the article is towards the bureaucracy. The Oregonian is the most read newspaper in Oregon, it's not the Onion. So if they said that they are quoting Jerry Jelusich, procurement specialist, Multnomah County department of Human Services they most likely are.

seebs,
So what constitutes an urban legend? There was some actual truth to the article. If by an extremely remote possibility some mental patient were to only speak Klingon, then there might be an opening for a position for someone who spoke Klingon. Again I restate that this was on the first page of the metro section of the newspaper I subscribe to. My understanding of an urban legend is that it is totally fabricated and totally bullshit. |
